Purity

Matt 5:6 “Happy are the pure in heart.” Maintaining a pure heart in the day and age in which we live is not done by happenstance. It takes constant effort and includes the following: First, we need to make an assessment of our lives…a personal inventory. We need to take a hard, honest look at our lives in the light of God’s Word, identifying areas that we fall short. Secondly, we must take responsibility for our faults, by not blaming others or rationalizing our behavior. Thirdly, we must ask God for His forgiveness and cleansing. Fourthly, and perhaps one of the hardest, we need to admit our faults to someone we trust. James 5:16 says, “Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” LB. Find someone you can trust, someone that can keep a confidence, someone that is mature enough to reflect God’s forgiveness and love as well as help hold you accountable. Lastly, we need to accept God’s forgiveness. God forgives us instantly, freely, and completely!
